Mother's Day & 3 Month Pictures

I got to experience my very first Mothers day this week. It was such a special day. I never knew if I would have this day as a Mother, but I am so grateful that I got that gift. Creeden, with the help of daddy, did a great job of making me feel special! I am so blessed to have my boys! A year ago tomorrow (May 16th) is when we found out that I was pregnant. It was a day we will never forget that was full of excitement, fear and lots of tears! I am so blessed to have my sweet boy here safe and sound sleeping next to me as I type.

A lot of you guys are on Facebook so you have seen his 3 month pictures, but for those of you who aren't I wanted to post them! You can click HERE to see a slideshow of his pictures. Three months was a very hard age to get good ones because he cannot sit up and would not smile for us! They are so precious though! I cannot believe on the 24th he will be 4 months! We go for his well baby check up on the 30th so I will post his stats after that!

A few videos of Creeden

Here are a few videos showing our little man's personality. The first one is just seeing his sweet smile and his funny eyes when I make weird noises at him.

The next one is his new talent. He loves to sit and 'talk' to us. He loves hearing his voice and so do we!

He is changing so much every day! I will post his 3 month pictures soon!

3 Months!

Today our baby is 3 months old! I cannot believe how fast time is flying by!

Creeden has had a hard few weeks. We took him to the doctor a few weeks ago and he had stopped gaining weight from so much spit up and had a double ear infection! They had to flush his ears out  (which was horrible!!!) and we started antibiotic for his ears. We then had to start an acid reflux medicine and change to a new formula (a step higher than soy) to help with his spit up to try to help his little tummy. We went back yesterday and he had started gaining again (at 13lb 8oz) and his ear infection was looking good! He still spits up A LOT but it isn't curled milk anymore and he is gaining weight so that is good! We are going to stay on this new formula until his 4 month appt and then possibly try to wing him off of it and back onto his other kind.

He has almost overnight become a happy baby! He now sleeps 6-7 hours a night and has not had anymore long crying spells! We think we are over the colic stage! He just smiles and seems so happy now! This new formula must be the ticket and now his little belly feels so much better!

Here are some pictures of our little man with the monthly bear!

This smile melts my heart!!!

His long legs crack me up! He is so big!

Creeden - 2 Months!

Well I am a little late once again for a 2 month update on Creeden!

We went to the doctor last week and he weighed in at 12lbs 15oz (75 percentile) and 24.5 inches long (91 percentile). He is a big boy!!! She said he looks very healthy and is developing great!

He got 3 shots at this appointment since he missed his 1 month shots due to sickness. He took them like a trooper though! He didn’t cry with the first one but did with the next 2. As soon as she was done and I picked him up he stopped crying and acted fine! He was very snuggly the rest of the day so it must have worn him out!

Facts about him at 2 month (now 10 weeks):

He still loves to eat and takes about 4.5oz every 3 hours.

He smiles at you a lot when you talk to him after he eats.

He loves going for walks (in the carrier swing more than the stroller)

He still fights sleep but swaddling helps so much

He loves his mat and kicks like crazy (VERY strong!)

The vacuum will make him stop crying instantly (still fighting some colic)

He spits up A LOT – so beware if you hold him!

The car seat does not make him go to sleep anymore!

He is getting LOTS of hair

He is very hot natured and sweats all the time

He can hold his head up for a long time now

Is fascinated with mirrors when he finally focuses on them

We still think he is the most beautiful/handsome little boy in the world. His smiles can melt your heart fast! We cannot wait to hear a little giggle! He has gotten a lot better colic-wise (or we have gotten better at dealing with it!) and our pediatrician thinks by 3 months it will be much better and 4 months will be past it!

He is starting to sleep a little better but not consistent yet. We are working on that! He ran his first fever the other day after his shots. We gave him his first dose of Tylenol and it knocked it out fast. He still has a hard time pooping but our doctor had us give him some prune juice last time and it worked fast! His mood gets so much better when it is not over 48 hours between each BM! He LOVES the water and is great during bath time.

All in all his a healthy and happy baby boy! I cannot believe it is almost time to get his 3 month pictures done! Seems like we were just getting the newborn ones taken!

Here are some pictures of him!

1 month - a little late!

I am a little late for our 1 month post! Sorry - it is a little crazy with a new baby!!!

We were scheduled to go to Creeden’s 1 month well baby check up on Tuesday but he was sick so we went on Monday. He has a lower respiratory infection and the draining mucus is causing him to projectile vomit. He got checked for RSV and it was negative and since he wasn’t dehydrated and was gaining weight she said he is ok. We just have to wait it out and let it heal. We have to sit in the bathroom with the hot shower going to let the steam break up the stuff in his chest and use saline drops and the nasal aspirator as often as we can. Also we are feeding him less but more often to help his tummy not be too upset.

We went ahead and did his well checkup other than the shot (she didn’t want to make him feel worse so we will do it at the 2 month appointment). He weighed in at 10lbs and 12oz! He is 22.5 inches long! He being the weight he is really helped her not be concerned with the throw up (and his constant spit up) since he is obviously keeping something down!!! She called him little piggy because he always wants to eat! He is for sure getting little fat rolls but with him being so long it really has been evened out so far.

Facts about him at 1 month (now 5.5 weeks):

He loves to eat and takes about 3.5oz every 2 – 2.5 hours.

He loves his pacifier.

He loves taking baths.

He loves going in the car (Our secret weapon to get him to sleep)

He loves music

He is VERY strong and can hold his head up for a bit and also roll almost to his side

He hates to sleep and will fight it as long as he can.

He has shown lots of Colic signs and the pediatrician had us get a book called “Happiest baby on the block” which talks about ways to help Colic babies. So far (we haven’t read the whole book yet) it is helping us some. We are swaddling him when he sleeps and we have a ‘womb sound’ cd that plays all night. We started that a few nights ago and he has slept almost 5 hours straight a few times (which is a miracle – it was 2-3 hours). He is learning how to break out of our swaddle so that breaks him sleeping but we ordered another kind that should make it so he cannot get out! We are still trying to learn how to calm him when he gets to his very fussy point and right now the car ride is what works the best.

He is without a doubt the most beautiful/handsome little baby boy we have ever seen. He is alert a lot of the time and I love just looking at is big eyes. He has smiled a few times and it is the sweetest (as you can see in the pictures below!)! He is losing a little bit of his hair but he is cute even going bald! He changes so much every day. When I wake up I just stare at him while he eats and just am amazed a how much he has grown and changed during the night.

We are not sure what we did before him! He is such a joy and I still cannot believe we have been trusted with this little life. He keeps us entertained, busy and tired but we would not have it any other way!

Welcome to the world Creeden!

Here is a video of pictures from Creeden's arrival! Make sure you have your sound on. I cannot believe he will be 4 weeks old on Tuesday! He is growing so fast and changing every day!

We are still trying to figure this little guy out but are so in love with him. Justin was able to take the first 3 weeks off with him and it was amazing bonding time for the 3 of us. It was very hard on Justin and I when he had to go back to work, but we know it is part of it and will get easier with time. It makes the evening and weekends together that much more special now.

We have his 1 month check up on the 28th. I will give an update on his stats after that!
